May 1st Studio Camp: Art as Activism! (8:30AM-4:30PM)
Along with our local community “day of action and advocacy” this May Day, we will be exploring art as a vehicle for not just self-expression but also as a way to inspire and generate community action. We will explore the work of a variety of artists who use their art to draw attention to important issues (from pot holes in their neighborhood, to caring for the environment), and of course, explore a variety of mediums to help make their message stand out. Campers will have the opportunity to reflect on something they care about and generate a piece of art that makes them and others feel seen.
Details (please also see our Camp general info page):
Drop off is between 8:30-9:30AM
Pick up between 3:30-4:30 PM
Please pack a lunch, snack, and bring a refillable water bottle.
Dress for the weather and for a day filled with art-making.
Extended Care available upon request
