Studio Summer Camp: Eco Art (June 15-19th)
Say it Kids Studio Camp is an interdisciplinary K-8 arts camp where KIDS get a say in where the exploration goes. Each camp session is crafted around a theme, and our skilled local arts educators lead students in a balanced day of creative exploration, problem solving, and team collaboration that is sure to satisfy the tinkerer, wonderer, and explorer in EVERY child. Say it Kids! is about self-expression, advocacy, and how the arts connect us all.
All camps include a variety of make and take activities around our theme, as well as daily movement breaks and even occasional walking field trips.
Walking field trips will be announced, and permission provided at the time of waiver completion. We are excited to use the paved walking paths from our studio up to the new Drakeford Public Library branch and even the Arts Center for special exhibits on occasion. Students whose families opt to not participate, will be given an alternate activity in-studio.
Registering for more than one camp session or camper? Use the code SAVECAMP10 at check-out to receive 10% off your order. *May only be used once per check-out, and must be registering either multiple camp weeks or multiple campers.
We WILL offer DAY-PASSES again this year, however DAY-PASSES go live two-weeks before each camp week, and change daily based on camp attendance and staffing.
This Camp's Theme: Eco-Art! (Grades Rising K-8)
Let’s kick-off summer break AND celebrate Pollinator Week and explore how nature can become both inspiration and material! Campers will explore the incredible ways art appears in the natural world—from the patterns on butterfly wings to the colors, shapes, and structures that help pollinators thrive.
Through hands-on projects, students will experiment with sustainable art practices, focusing on re-use, mixed media, and eco-friendly materials. Campers will transform everyday and reclaimed items into imaginative artworks while learning how artists, scientists, and engineers can design with the planet in mind. Along the way, they’ll discover how creative choices can support ecosystems and celebrate the important role of pollinators.
What to Expect:
Upon registration, families will be prompted to complete the camper registration form and waiver for each child.
Look for a message from us the week before camp with any additional details and reminders about your session.
Regular camp hours are from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (Extended care available upon registration, or at a later date for a $15 fee per day per camper)
All students should dress for fun and occasional messy art, pack a refillable water bottle, and lunch. (compostables encouraged!)
Camp fee includes all arts materials.
Camp Location: 101 Two Hills Drive Unit 180, Carrboro NC.
